These terms set out the basis on which this website, lauramcdermott.co.uk, is provided.

About this website

This website is run by Laura McDermott, a UK-based astrologer and sole trader. There is no separate business name. You can contact me by email only, at [email protected] .

Services and bookings

The pages on this website describe the services offered: 1:1 birth chart readings, an astrology course and written natal chart reports. These descriptions are summaries.

Bookings and payments are handled by Stan Store, not on this website. Links to Stan Store open in a new tab, and Stan Store’s own terms apply to anything you buy there. Prices, availability and what you receive are shown on Stan Store.

Sessions

  • Sessions are normally 60 minutes online on Google Meet, unless a particular service description says otherwise. The link is sent as soon as you book.
  • Sessions are not automatically recorded. I only record a session if you ask for a copy for your own reference, and I will make it clear when the recording starts. Before it begins, you will be asked to confirm that you want the session recorded and understand that anything you choose to share may be captured.
  • Google Meet automatically creates a transcript of a recorded session. I use it only to prepare your follow-up email or summary.
  • Once the follow-up is done and the recording has been made available to you, I delete the recording and transcript from my own systems, and never keep them for longer than four weeks. Please download your recording soon. Any copy you download is under your own control.
  • Live community calls for course students are not routinely recorded, to protect participants’ privacy.

Rescheduling and missed sessions

Sessions may be rescheduled using the booking link up to 24 hours before the appointment. If you miss your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the session fee will normally be retained because the appointment time and preparation time have been reserved for you, subject always to your statutory consumer rights.

Written reports

  • Written reports are a PDF, sent by email and through Stan Store within 7 days of ordering. You give your date, time and place of birth when you order.
  • Children’s chart analysis is ordered by a parent or guardian, who provides the child’s birth details. Where a service concerns someone under 16, the order must be placed by their parent or guardian. I don’t take details of under-16s from anyone else.

Courses

  • Course access is through Stan Store. Foundations includes 12 months’ access. The Complete Course includes 36 months’ access. Access beyond the stated period may continue or be extended at my discretion, but is not guaranteed.
  • Any downloadable course materials you wish to retain should be downloaded during your access period. Continued access to hosted videos after the stated access period is not guaranteed.
  • Live community calls are not routinely recorded, to protect students’ privacy.
  • Any certificate issued is a certificate of completion from Laura McDermott. It is not an accredited qualification and is not issued by or equivalent to a qualification from a regulated awarding body.

Cancellation and refunds

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

If you purchase online, you may have a legal right to cancel your contract within 14 days, subject to the rules that apply to services and digital content.

If you ask me to begin providing a service during the 14-day cancellation period, you expressly request that the service starts before that period has ended. If you cancel after work has begun, I may charge a reasonable amount for work already carried out. If the service has been fully performed after your express request and acknowledgement, your statutory cancellation right may end.

Where digital content is made available immediately, you will be asked to expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge that you will lose your 14-day statutory right to cancel once supply of that digital content begins.

These provisions do not affect your rights where a service or digital product is faulty, not as described, or otherwise does not meet your statutory rights.

Testimonials

The testimonials on this website are the experiences of individual clients. Every client’s experience is different. Testimonials show what individual clients said about their own readings. They aren’t a promise that you’ll have the same experience or results.

I occasionally publish client testimonials on this website, on Stan Store, on social-media accounts and in other business materials. On this website they are normally shown with an initial rather than the client’s full name, together with the type of service where appropriate. I only publish a testimonial where I have permission to use it. If you’ve given me one and want it removed from platforms under my control, email [email protected] .

Your personal information

How I collect, use, store and protect personal information is explained in my Privacy Policy . In summary:

  • Birth details you provide are used to prepare your chart and provide the service you have requested. I may store existing clients’ birth-chart information in my astrology software, Astro Gold, so you don’t have to provide it again. It is normally deleted 12 months after your most recent service, and you can ask me to delete it sooner by email.
  • For a relationship reading, only provide another person’s birth details if you are entitled to share them. I use them only to prepare your reading.
  • Information you share during a session is used only as reasonably necessary to prepare for and provide your service. I don’t create a separate record of sensitive information you mention in conversation.
  • Where a service concerns a child, I use the child’s information only as necessary to provide that service, and I don’t market services directly to the child.
  • Payments are handled by Stan Store and its payment providers. I do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
  • Joining my mailing list is optional. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing does not stop the administrative or service emails needed for something you have booked, purchased or enrolled in.
  • I do not enter identifiable client information into general-purpose AI tools.
  • To ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected or deleted, email [email protected] .

Content and copyright

All content on this website and in my readings, reports and courses, including text, videos, charts, workbooks and reference materials, belongs to me. If you buy something, you may use it for your own personal learning and reference. You may not copy, share, resell or publish it, use it to train AI tools, or use course materials to teach others, without my written permission. Session recordings and written reports are for the person who bought them only.

This website links to other sites, including Stan Store, Instagram and TikTok. I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content, how they work, or how they independently use your information. They have their own terms and privacy practices.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you make your purchase will normally apply to that purchase.

If I make a change that materially affects an existing booking, course enrolment or other ongoing contract, I will contact the affected customer and, where required, obtain their agreement.
